Authentic Ojibwe Dreamcatcher Handcrafted by a Bad River Healer (Gift for Donation)
The Story Behind the Dreamcatcher: “Inverted”. This handcrafted dreamcatcher is a symbol of strength and resilience. Its design is rich with deep metaphorical significance:
- The Branch: A single branch forms the foundation, representing the strength and unity needed to hold oneself together.
- The Hoop: Held together by eight main connections, it embodies the idea of continuity, as the number eight symbolizes infinity. Life's cycles continue unbroken.
- The Inverted Point: This unique feature defies convention, representing the resilience to overcome obstacles and go against the grain. Inspired by the metaphor of addiction recovery, it reflects the journey of those who thrive despite doing things "backwards." It holds the spirit of Wanabozho and Heyoka, figures in Native culture who embody unconventional wisdom.
- The Frame: Double-tied for durability, the diamond shape at its center symbolizes rugged strength, akin to a diamond—the hardest stone.
- The Web and Center: The web thickens to form a flower, leading to an oval-shaped middle circle, symbolizing birth, life, and renewal.
- Red-Osier Dogwood: The sacred frame is crafted from red-osier dogwood, a plant revered for its medicinal properties. The red outer layer and white inner layer have ceremonial uses, offering healing and connection during prayers.
- Size: 12x10 inches
